Summary/Description: A World Trauma Day and Road Safety Campaign was organized by IIS University in collaboration with Peoples Trust India by Dr. Prerana Arora Singh and Mr. Raj Narayan Singh at Patrika Gate, Jaipur. The event was coordinated by Dr. Purnima Sharma. We displayed posters made by us on ‘World Trauma Day’ and on issues related to Road Safety like ‘First Aid’, ‘Good Samaritan’ and ‘Give way to Ambulance’. This was a big event for all the students as we were interviewed by the reporter of ‘Rajasthan Patrika’ on our thoughts and views on World Trauma Day and Road Safety. I gave my interview on the issue of ‘Over speeding’. I explained that driving vehicle in over speed can be life threatening not only to the person driving but also puts the life of others in danger. I gave the slogan in my interview “Fast Drive can be your Last Drive”. Our interview was live on the Facebook page of Patrika and our article was also published in the Rajasthan Patrika newspaper.

Outcome of the activity: Students learned about trauma, its causes and the impact it can have in one’s life. A healthy lifestyle is very important to avoid any kind of a situation that can cause trauma to a person also learned that one needs to take care of not only physical but mental health as it can take a person into depression, stress, anxiety and trauma. Students gave an interview to media on Road Safety and over speeding which developed a confidence in me to raise my voice for something good in public.
