Concept of Mutual Funds

Introduction: Investment avenues, concept and role of mutual fund,
comparison of mutual fundwith equity and bond instruments and history of MF in India. Different types of funds: Scheme selection, expense
ratio, income ratio, portfolio turnover rate and transaction costs.

Structure, Key Constituents & Legal -Regulatory Framework

Structure and key constituents of mutual fund: Sponsor, trustees, AMC, custodians, Depositories and distributors. Legal and regulatory frame work: AMFI, RBI and Companies Act.

Net Asset Value & Financial Planning

Net Asset Value: Calculation of NAV, accounting, valuation and tax implications. Financial planning: Overview of financial plan, financial planning strategies, asset allocation and wealth management.

Marketing of Units & Portfolio Management

Marketing of units: Selecting the right investment products for investors, fund distribution and channel management practices.
Portfolio management: Risk & return trade off and risk adjusted returns.

Fund Performance & Investor Protection

Measuring fund performance: Bench marking and quantitative measures used for analysis. Protection of investors: RTI, customer grievances.
