Description of the activity:

It’s vitally important to help shape children and young people’s understanding of and attitudes towards road safety, to help give them the best chance of keeping safe while they’re young and as they get older. It provides advice and information on how to minimize risks children face when walking on the school site and immediately outside the school on the public highway.

The purpose of this session on Road Safety is to guide the NGO students to exercise precaution while crossing the roads and to reduce the risk of injury among children. Volunteers will teach the students about Road Signs and help them use their logic and knowledge to make sound decisions when he/she is in uncertain situations i.e while crossing the road, walking through a busy road, following traffic rules etc.

The aim of education, training and encouragement in Road Safety is to educate all road users in the proper and safe use of roads in order to change user attitudes and behaviour and to stimulate an awareness of the need for improvement in road safety. Road user behavioural changes are necessary to help reduce and prevent road collisions.

The host acknowledged the contribution of students those who voluntarily took part in teaching the NGO students through various activities like the question game ,guess the road signs, word scramble, teaching through videos i.e.showing stories related to giving knowledge about road signs. The volunteers were divided into a group and each group were allotted some NGO children.
