Objective of the seminar:                             Introducing students to MOOC courses on the SWAYAM portal aims to democratize education, providing students with greater access to quality content, diverse subjects, flexible learning, and skill development opportunities.

Description:                                                   The session focused on the Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) offered through the Swayam portal, an initiative by the Government of India to provide free online courses to learners across the country. The session aimed to provide an overview of the Swayam platform, its features, and the benefits it offers to learners. The session began with an introduction to the Swayam platform. Swayam stands for "Study Webs of Active Learning for Young Aspiring Minds." It is a centralized online platform that hosts a wide range of courses across various disciplines. These courses are offered by instructors from reputed institutions and organizations, making high-quality education accessible to a larger audience.

The session emphasized the diversity of courses available on Swayam. Courses are offered in subjects such as engineering, humanities, science, management, and more. Learners can choose from foundation courses to specialized topics, enabling them to enhance their skills and knowledge in their areas of interest. Swayam offers certification for successful completion of courses. These certificates are recognized by many universities and organizations, providing learners with a valuable credential to enhance their professional and academic profiles.

Outcome of the seminar:                              Participants developed a clear understanding of the Swayam platform and its objectives. Many were previously unaware of the wide variety of free online courses available on Swayam, and the session successfully increased their awareness about this valuable resource. The diverse range of courses offered on the Swayam portal was a key takeaway for participants. They appreciated the opportunity to choose from courses spanning different disciplines, catering to their specific interests and learning needs.
