Objective of the activity:
Summary/Description: An interactive session in collaboration with Peoples Trust India, Jaipur on Motor Vehicle Act 2019 was taken by Advocate Surya Pratap Singh Rajawat from Rajasthan High Court Jaipur.
Sir gave us basic knowledge about the laws in the act. He taught us about the age limit rule for riding the motor vehicle and the penalty and punishments for violating the same. He made us aware about the penalties for violating traffic rules, not wearing helmets and safety belts and the life-threatening consequences we can face for not following the rules. He told that these rules are made for our safety and for preventing our lives and other lives from risk of injury or even death. He also explained the rights and duties of a ‘Good Samaritan’. A Good Samaritan is a person who takes the victim of accident to the nearest hospital or provide any kind of emergency help in order to save his life. Good Samaritan Law protects Good Samaritans from harassment on the action being taken by them in order to save the life of the victim. It was an interactive and informative session.
Outcome of the activity: Age limit for riding a motor vehicle is 18 years. If this rule is violated, the person on whose name the vehicle is registered will bear the consequences, always drive within the speed limit permitted by the law,wear seat belts and helmets.Whenever see an accident, as a ‘Good Samaritan’ and try to help and save the victim’s life.
