Summary/Description |
The session began with welcome note by Dr Sonal Jain, Librarian, IIS (Deemed to be University). Then Mr Ranjan took over the session. He started the session by highlighting that there are two PROQUEST databases: -1) ABI / INFORM GLOBAL and 2) EBOOK CENTRAL. He informed about various features of ProQuest and the details related to it-Like, how to login, what it is all about, how to use and what all content it actually includes. As per Mr Rajan, the ABI / INFORM GLOBAL is one of the most comprehensive business databases in the market. It offers the latest business and financial information for researchers at all levels and includes in depth coverage from thousands of publications, most of them in full- text. This platform is helpful to find out about business conditions, management techniques, business trends, management practice and theory, corporate strategy and tactics, and competitive landscape. It was a highlighted fact during the session that the platform imbibes data from top publishers and institutes, ideas from great researchers and intellectuals from Management. Later it was emphasized on the fact that case studies play a major role in the learning and application of concepts. Moving forward, the steps to use the website and various filters on it were discussed and practiced. It brought participant knowledge and importance of authentic data and its impact on the career of future managers |
